Phillip Tiongson
Phillip R. Tiongson is a Filipino American designer and leading authority on interactive technology. Tiongson’s career reflects his interest in the ever-evolving interplay between technology and humanity. Tiongson founded Potion, an independent studio dedicated to transforming the world with interactivity. In every engagement, he seeks to design inclusive experiences that reflect each organization’s core values and culture. Tiongson currently serves on MIT’s Council for the Arts, a catalyst and funder for the development of a broadly based, highly participatory arts program and regularly speaks about technology, design, and culture. He earned his MS from the MIT Media Lab and MFA in Film Directing from Columbia University. Born and raised in rural Tennessee, he can’t believe that he lives with his family in NYC.
His clients include the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, The Cleveland Museum of Art, Smithsonian Institution, The Metropolitan Museum, Northwestern University, Nike, HarperCollins, and Maharam.
