Jeff Semenchuk
Jeff Semenchuk is chief innovation officer at Blue Shield of California, a 4-million-member nonprofit health plan that serves the state’s commercial, individual, and government markets. Semenchuk is responsible for institutionalizing new ways of thinking and working, and for designing experiences that help Blue Shield transform health care for consumers, physicians, and employers.
Before joining Blue Shield in 2018, he was the chief executive officer at Yaro (Formerly Zest Health), a healthcare and financial technology startup recently acquired by Virgin Pulse, and the chief innovation officer at Hyatt Hotels, where he drove innovation at all levels of the organization. He also held roles as the co-founder and CEO at Citi Ventures and managing director of Citi’s global ventures and innovation team, as well as head of global innovation at Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. Semenchuk has a Bachelor of Arts in communications from Wheaton College and a Master of Arts in communications from Northern Illinois University.
