Cindy Dodds
Cindy Dodds of Key Biscayne, Florida lost her son Kyle at the age of 24 to an overdose. He used cocaine laced with fentanyl and overdosed in the streets of Overtown a neighborhood in Miami. Cindy has since helped to bring a harm reduction, needle exchange to Miami. She walks the streets of Overtown building relationships with addicted persons and those who are homeless. Cindy has worked tirelessly with the University of Miami, and with the State Attorney's office to get the needle exchange laws changed to allow individuals the opportunity to build relationships which will keep down the spread of dangerous diseases, keep dirty needles from getting into the hands of children and allowing safe relationships to exist so that when a person is ready to detox, they have a place to safely turn for help. She will stop what she is doing to assist in getting someone into treatment when the are ready to make the move. She gently nudges them, encouraging because she cares. Her angel Kyle guides her
