Allison Vicenzi has been designing and creatively reusing things for a quarter of a century. She now specializes in natural materials, endurable and circular goods, and remakes/repairs for garments otherwise headed to a landfill. Since 2017, she has co-hosted over 50 workshops and meetups in an effort to share and learn and make alongside the community in NYC. Vicenzi owns and runs a tailored workwear brand (with a circular business model) and is an advocate for American Made goods and open source initiatives. Vicenzi is also a partner and a founding advisory brand in MOR, the distributed tech system tracing fashion origins and rewarding brands and individuals for reuse.
Allison previously exhibited at SXSW as education director for 3D printing leaders MakerBot and 3Doodler. Always itching to make things, she left the 3D printing industry in 2016 to design and experiment with solutions to systemic problems plaguing fashion. She’s excited to share what she’s encountered and discuss what’s yet to come in this important cultural shift.
