Tommy Genesis

Genesis Yasmine Mohanraj, known by her stage name Tommy Genesis, has made a place for herself in the underground rap scene. Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, Genesis graduated from Emily Carr University of Art and Design where she studied film and sculpture. Since then, she has transformed into a unique rap artist and model, gaining attention for her style that incorporates personal reflections of her sexuality and femininity. Tommy Genesis enlists herself as a “fetish rapper” with experimental tracks that attracted DIY Atlanta-based music collective Awful Records. Her first body of work World Vision was released independently in 2015. In 2017, the young rapper signed with Downtown Records, and released her debut album Tommy Genesis in late 2018.
