Majority of the top hip-hop artists often get scrutinized early on for their differences, from Blueface's off beat rapping to people disregarding Lil Yachty's "mumble raps". Yet it is their uniqueness that sets them apart and ultimately is key to them becoming stars.
Often dismissed earlier on for straying from hip hop’s conventions, artists able to capitalize on their unique style by connecting to the right audiences online. In this panel, industry professionals will discuss how elements of digital media are used by a diverse group of rap stars to leverage their distinctive styles and catapult them to fame. While some fear that hip hop’s popularity could damage the quality and authenticity of its music, this panel will share how the digital age has embraced a diverse range of artists.
