Christopher Mumford teaches innovation, design thinking and sports entrepreneurship as a professor of practice at UNC - Chapel Hill and Wake Forest University. He started businesses in education, sport, technology, consumer products and healthcare.
Mumford founded Joe Startup (an startup education website) and leads a Golden Leaf Foundation program for main street startups and economic development in rural North Carolina. He is also the cofounder of Launch Chapel Hill, a business accelerator, and 1789 Venture Lab, a coworking space. Mumford has written three books on design thinking, entrepreneurship and small business management.
He is a director at the Accelerator School(a soccer-focused micro-school) and co-founder of the Innovation Cycles Festival, a personal transportation and cycling conference in Bentonville June 7-9, 2019. Mumford is a co-founder of Digizuk, a cycling digital storytelling and video production company. He works with Alexander Julian in cycling sports
