Patients Calling the Shots: Dementia-Friendly Care

This expert panel will discuss an innovative model for providing person-centered dementia care and using technology to facilitate diagnosis and treatment. What if the wants/needs of people experiencing cognitive changes were the primary drivers of how a clinic cares for its patients? What if detection and treatment of cognitive difficulties could happen within the comfort of the patient’s own home? We developed a unique method to address needs of people with dementia and their care partners. Hear personal experiences of how this care impacted a caregiver whose wife is living with young-onset, frontotemporal dementia. Dive in with us as we discuss current and future research using technology for early detection and care at the Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences Comprehensive Memory Center.
