Mobility is a basic human right, yet we often feel our most vulnerable when we are in transit. Taking the subway in a new city, navigating airports or the anxieties of flying, sharing a Lyft with strangers to save a few bucks: These journeys can take a toll on anyone. But for women and minorities, these already tense situations can be infinitely worse.
This panel will focus on the often unconsidered challenges that vulnerable passengers face while navigating rideshare, public transit, and air travel, and how we’re using design to tackle these issues, particularly as we stand on the brink of autonomy. As women working across both public and private transportation, it's our responsibility to represent minorities and be a part of developing solutions before technology advances too far.
