Original Disrupters: Can Alt-Weeklies Stay Alt?

Date TBA

With every crusading alternative newspaper that shutters – Village Voice, Boston Phoenix, Baltimore City Paper – a fresh round of eulogies hits the internet and the alt-weekly as a viable form of media is declared dead again. Industry vets from The Austin Chronicle, The Pitch (Kansas City), and Euclid Media Group will make the case for why alternative media matters now more than ever. They’ll discuss the ways they’ve reinvented their brands and expanded their reach, and the ways they’ve stayed stubbornly the same, a thorn in the side of the muckety mucks and a pie in the eye to the arbiters of good taste.
