BedPost Confessions Podcast
Sex: (almost) everybody does it and (almost) nobody talks about it—except at BedPost Confessions. The award winning Austin show that “stuns audiences with the power of story” (The Austin Chronicle) will showcase two storytellers for this special one hour podcast recording.
Historian of art and leather visual cultures, Andy Campbell, will delve into the pleasures and vicissitudes of researching kinky communities, exploring how contemporary art can shuffle your sense of self in "Surrogate, Envelope." Disabled Tejan, Austin hip-hop archivist, and identity politics writer from the Borderlands, Audrea Diaz confronts internalized ableism trapped in her sexuality in 'Sex, Shame, and (me).”
The highlight of BedPost Confessions is the participation of the audience members, who have a chance to share their own secrets, wishes and regrets in the form of anonymous confessions, which are read aloud by BedPost producers Miranda Wylie and Sadie Smythe.
BedPost Confessions has something for everyone - including humor and wit and thought-provoking wisdom - all while providing new ways of looking at sex and relationships. BedPost Confessions aims to either spark a fantasy or start a conversation. Maybe even both.
Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
