Delivering Jobs: Building an Inclusive Workforce

There are approximately 6.5 million people in the U.S. with autism, intellectual and/or developmental differences, but 81% of adults (18+) with intellectual and/or developmental differences do not have a paid job in the community, according to data from National Core Indicators. Delivering Jobs, an inclusion campaign created by Autism Speaks, Best Buddies and Special Olympics, is tackling this issue by working to creating pathways to one million employment and leadership opportunities for people with autism, intellectual and/or development differences by 2025.

To create these pathways, Delivering Jobs is setting out to: equip people with autism, intellectual and/or developmental differences with the resources they need to build leadership skills and prepare for jobs and leadership positions; motivate employers to hire this qualified labor force by offering workplace development resources and highlighting their progress; and engage the public to advocate for inclusion and equality.

Angela Geiger and Dean Marino will take the stage to help attendees understand the necessity of creating opportunities for people with autism, intellectual and/or developmental differences, illustrate the ROI companies will see from inclusive hiring and equip audience members with resources to take an inclusive step forward.
