Sound and Vision: the Art of the Score
The relationship between sound and vision is at the heart of the cinematic experience. This panel will explore the many different ways artists, composers, and filmmakers work and collaborate together to enhance what we see on screen. It will delve into the different processes and techniques used, and how a score helps achieve an emotional response in the viewer. Featuring filmmaker Claire Oakley, who worked with composer Ben Salisbury (Ex Machine, Annihilation) on her debut feature Make Up; musician Gwenno Saunders, who is at the festival performing a special live score for Mark Jenkins’ BAFTA-winning feature, Bait; and Stuart Brown from BFI, who commissions live score projects for Sonic Cinema.
