What are some legal concepts that make music festivals like Coachella possible, and ignorance of which landed the founder of the Fyre Festival in prison? This session will discuss legal and business aspects of music festival agreements, and what makes them distinct from traditional touring, recording, merchandising, streaming and live performance deals. It will also cover hot-button issues in related areas such as employment, antitrust and social media influencer law, as they pertain to music festival participants and producers, sharing some entertainment law pro tips and tricks along the way. The session presumes intermediate to advanced familiarity with entertainment law, but will contain takeaways for practitioners at all levels.
