CLE - Taking Heat for Tweets: Ethical Issues for Lawyers

Date TBA

In the age of digital communications, lawyers have to be warier than ever to avoid ethical pitfalls. Using real world examples drawn from cases, disciplinary proceedings, and ethics opinions from across the country, this program will look at how lawyers have lost jobs, clients, and damaged their personal and professional reputations as a result of ill-advised tweets and posts. A panel of national thought leaders in the field will provide insight into how lawyers (and judges) continue to court controversy with their digital communications, and will offer handy guidelines and best practices to aid attorneys in avoiding such online dangers.

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
