Regulating Success: Building Better Cannabusiness Laws

Please be aware that cannabis and related laws vary. Programming in this track is designed to inform attendees about this fast-changing industry, and does not promote the use or sale of illegal drugs.

For years cannabis regulations have been crafted in the shadow of federal prohibition to respond to the growing acceptance of legalization while acknowledging the Schedule 1 status of marijuana. But with federal decriminalization and legalization more popular than ever, how can the people regulated by these laws help guide a new era of regulation?

Attorney Christine Masse began considering this question when she founded the cannabis team at law firm Miller Nash Graham & Dunn in 2012. She has spent years working with cannabusiness stakeholders to engage in a practical reimagining of cannabis regulations that views the success of the regulated market as the driving force behind legalization. Join Chris as she explores the status quo of cannabis regulation and how the success of legal markets can usher in a new age of legal cannabis.
