Edge: Turning Adversity into Advantage

Date TBA

Some people naturally have an advantage, while others have to create one for themselves. We’re taught from a very young age that success is about hard work. And hard work is critical—but is it enough to secure success? How often does our effort go unrewarded and leave us frustrated? In this session, Laura Huang discusses how hard work doesn’t always speak for itself, and how the reality is that career success and personal outcomes are often determined by the signals, perceptions, and stereotypes others have of us. Laura will share key insights from her new book, Edge: Turning Adversity into Advantage, based on over 10 years of her research on this topic, to discuss how to flip negative perceptions, stereotypes, and obstacles in your favor while staying true to yourself—so that you can find and create your own edge.
