Buoyed by eager young fans and equally eager investors, esports has quickly gone mainstream. This meteoric rise in popularity has led to plans for shiny new esports stadiums built to host thousands of dedicated gaming fans. But bigger is not always better and those huge new edifices risk overwhelming the very community that lifted professional gaming to where it is today.
