Modern parenting is more difficult. Years ago, parents had the support of extended family in raising a child, and had practice with child-rearing of children birthed before their own.
Today, parents have inadequate support in raising children and exponentially more stressors on their lives - insufficient sleep among the worst. In the US, 30% of workers sleep less than 6 hours per night, and sleep deprivation is 50% greater in new parents. Fatigue has been shown to cause the same mental impairment as being drunk, and contributes to weight gain, depression, anxiety, marital stress, and more.
What technologies and solutions exist to make modern parenting more manageable? How can new parents find necessary support and personal wellbeing while raising a happy, healthy child?
