Aging Gracefully: The New Old

By 2060, the number of Americans aged 65 and older will nearly double, from 52 million to 95 million, meaning that soon nearly a quarter of all Americans will be elderly. This means that pretty soon we’ll have to rethink a vast number of American traditions and practices, from how we manage healthcare to how we market consumer goods, adjusting them to the needs of a rapidly aging population. This panel of poets, psychologists, and scientists will discuss innovative eldercare technologies, late-in-life careers and affairs, and the things we can start doing today to get ready for the new old.
