Editing for the Small Screen
As more and more viewers go from watching content in theatrical and broadcast formats to watching on televisions, tablets and phones, editors have been presented with the challenge of how to edit content for "the small screen". This can include concessions to shot choice, color correction, pacing or sound. We will explore what has changed and not changed for editors in the age of streaming. For the more experienced filmmakers in the audience, the panel will be a way to share ideas of what works and what doesn't work and what sacrifices we as editors are willing and not willing to make for the "small screen" audience. For the less experienced filmmakers in the audience, the panel will provide a valuable lesson on how to tell a story that is effective on any platform.
