Beyond the Games: Building an Olympic Legacy
Toyko 2020 is facing a public backlash and spiralling costs. Los Angeles 2028 is fast approaching. Cities invest significant time and money in Olympic bids to host the games, yet with this comes intense scrutiny and criticism over the direction of public funds. It does beg the questions: Is it really worth it?
Bringing together the London team from the 2012 Games, who created the most successful post-Olympic legacy globally, transforming the site into a tech and innovation campus, home to thousands of entrepreneurs, business, students, academics, and scientists – and the City of LA team who are just beginning their journey.
This panel will tell the story of the London Olympic regeneration project and explore the opportunities that Los Angeles has to harness the power of the Games
