In 2016 Robert Rodriguez selected five independent short filmmakers from around the country to mentor and observe while they shot their first feature film in two weeks for seven thousand dollars. The filmmakers each completed a film that they shot, directed and edited. Those films screened during SXSW 2017.

The five filmmakers learned first hand independent filmmaking techniques from Rodriguez and have gone on to continue creating their own films.

In this panel we catch up with the filmmakers. They express their trials, tribulations and ultimate successes as filmmakers.

Panel will be moderated by Snowden screenwriter Kieran Fitzgerald. (Or an equal industry creator) and be followed up with a question and answer session for attending filmmakers.
