Cinematographers may be best positioned as the storytellers of the future. Given our focus on creating visual purpose from a script, our facility with the psychology of images, and our readiness to create and put technology to work in telling stories, cinematographers have been thinking about audience interaction before it was cool. It is these characteristics that position the Director of Photography as a natural leader and at the forefront of the quickly evolving XR storytelling and production environment. This panel will focus on the unique insight cinematographers have on the creativity and creation of VR/AR/XR. Through examples of their award winning work they will explore the evolving aspects of the art and craft of XR storytelling and the impact a Director of Photography can have.
