IoT Toy Hack: Using Old Toys to Tell New Stories

Date TBA

Internet of Toys (IoT) Toy Hack will be a hands-on and interactive panel presentation around integrating simple electronics and connected programmable electronics with old recycled toys to create a new way of story-telling.

We will first show you how to create a general story line. Then, we will hack away, dissect, take apart, and re-combine old toys to create new ones to use in our story. Finally, we will show you how to connect this to the internet with some simple electronics to add remote control of blinking LEDs, moving arms, and even sound!. When we’re done, you will know how to “Frankenstein” together old toys to build new creatures and story elements that can be controlled remotely through the web.

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
