This session will feature an in-depth discussion about the past and the future of the World Health Organization (WHO) Africa Innovation Challenge. The WHO Africa Regional Office launched the inaugural challenge in November 2018 and in just 4 weeks received over 2,400 applications from 77 countries (including 44 countries in Africa) to be named one of the #WHOTop30Innovators of 2019. This panel will feature a conversation about the next steps in supporting the most promising innovations identified by the challenge and how the WHO is collaborating with the private and public sectors to create a platform for scaling Africa health innovations.
