Today, space technologies are in use every day, from navigation to financial transactions to weather forecasts to communications. At the intersection of international trade, policy, design, engineering, and art, lies space; crucial to all. As disruptive business models and technologies supposedly ‘democratize’ access to space, this panel hopes to address the philosophical and ethical paradigms around ‘futuristic’ space.
Rather than a new “space race,” we will discuss how and why humanity seeks to move beyond our cultural and technical horizons, literally and figuratively. The space industry is poised to continue serving as a test-bed for groundbreaking conversation, collaboration, and design.
