The Future of the Supply Chain in Music

After the hype bubble burst for blockchain technology in the music space, where are we now? Connecting the rights to the audio & tracking metadata amendments across multi-party ownerships has always been a core use for blockchain in a fragmented music space, but what hurdles remain for adoption? The panel will discuss the benefits and challenges the technology faces for metadata and rights in music and whether a new supply chain ecosystem of cooperation will benefit all. What is the path to industry adoption, and is more transparency good for everyone? If the tech is to gain adoption, how will the industry govern and run equally? Is the “Libra” approach the future? Is metadata finally sexy, or has the industry finally woken up to its power and reach? And importantly where does the artist fit in?
