Classical music and orchestral instrumentation has steadily declined in popularity over the past few decades as it struggles to remain relevant in the modern world. Recently, though, young people are being inspired to pay more attention during their piano lessons thanks to the explosive growth in the popularity of videogame music. There's an entire generation of dormant virtuosos that won't ever realize their potential unless they have a reason to unlock it, and videogame music could be that key. It's already being seen with people who have previously never heard an orchestra in their life, who are now flocking to the symphony to see their favorite game music played live. Gamers could revive orchestral music, so the music industry, game industry, and academia must ensure that those gamers have the tools to do it.
