Born Vanessa Ortiz, Ness Heads’ take on contemporary hip-hip immediately grabs an audience’s attention. A talented songwriter, she uses catchy melodies and powerful lyrics to tell stories and convey her emotions. She first broke into Chicago’s hip-hop scene in late 2017 when she started working with producer and family friend Drew Damen at the Music Garage. In 2018, Ness was identified as an artist to watch by Soundcloud, NPR, and DJBooth. She’s shared stages with Lupe Fiasco, Vic Mensa, Dreezy, and Kaina. Ness’ debut EP, Numb, released in October 2019 and served as an introduction to Ness Heads’ immense potential.
