Created in 2011, As Bahias e a Cozinha Mineira is formed by its two transgender singers and songwriters Assucena Assucena and Raquel Virgínia (“As Bahias”), responsible for bringing the “música baiana” (Bahia’s music) influence, in special the Tropicalism, to the band, and by the guitarist and musical arranger Rafael Acerbi (“A Cozinha Mineira”), completing the group with the “música mineira” (Minas Gerais’ music) influences of Milton Nascimento and Clube da Esquina.
