Jack River is the moniker of Writer, Entrepreneur and Musician Holly Rankin.
As a 3 X ARIA Nominated, APRA nominated Artist, within 3 years River has emerged to be one of Australia’s fastest rising musical talents. Alongside her career as an Artist, Holly Rankin has founded and built two festival brands - Grow Your Own & Electric Lady, as part of her company Hopeless Utopian.
In 2019 she partnered her company with Secret Sounds, emerging as one of Australia’s youngest festival promoters, with the full backing of the industry and the passionate support of leading youth station triple j and ABC alike. Rankin’s quest to create a platform of music, creativity and business does not stop here, it is just beginning.
2020 will see her release her second major work - STRANGER HEART an EP that pleads a case for the heart as a complex and dynamic thing, one that can survive chaos and find the beauty in terror and hopelessness. Jack River has sold out shows across Australia and taken to stages at Falls Festival, Splendour In The Grass and Groovin’ The Moo. Her SXSW performance will be followed by three intimate US shows marking her first tour in North America.
