Blacks' Myths

DC/NYC duo Blacks' Myths create pulsing, hypnotic rhythmic structures that reflect on American black history. Behind the project are two storied musicians with a background in jazz: multi-instrumentalist Luke Stewart on bass and Warren G. "Trae" Crudup III on drums. Stewart is a prominent figure in improvised music as a concert organiser and musician, performing in a variety of groups including the Afrofuturist free jazz troupe Irreversible Entanglements. Crudup is also active in DC’s jazz scene, drumming with the poet Thomas Sayers Ellis, saxophonists James Brandon Lewis and Brian Settles among others.
