Dream pop force Laveda awaken nostalgic moods in their sound, drawing heavily from 90s shoegaze and experimental rock. What began as a small bedroom recording project between Ali Genevich (vocalist, guitarist, and violinist) and Jake Brooks (guitarist, vocalist, and synths) has rapidly developed over the past year. The duo has grown their sound from a simple singer-songwriter style into one that carries a full-fledged and almost cinematic listening experience.
Laveda completed their first tour of the Northeastern US and Canada in August (joined by Joe Taurone on drums) following the release of their second single "Better Now”. The song has since been featured on Spotify's Indie Pop playlist, selected as a featured track for Bandcamp's New and Notable section, and reached the top 3 on Hype Machine, being tagged as one of the site’s ‘Most Blogged Artists’ for two weeks.
Currently the band is gearing up for a small run of shows in late October/early November in the New England region and New York area. Laveda's full length LP is scheduled for release in spring 2020 and will be pressed onto 12" custom vinyl.
