The Immigration and Humanitarian Crisis on the Southern Border

As human beings, we can’t turn our backs on those desperately in need during the worst displacement crisis in history. More than sixty five million people—half of them children—have been forced to flee their homes because of war, persecution, poverty, or hunger. These men, women, and children, have sought safety and opportunity in the beacon of hope the United States has long provided. To the thousands of miles to reach the border is not a choice. Each one comes with a story seeking protection from violence or religious persecution.

Come hear Krish Vignarajah, President & CEO of LIRS discuss the true crisis on the border. A crisis of young children being separated from their families, forced to live in “prison camps” given limited food and water, and not having the proper guidance to move through the process. These families are fleeing their homes seeking protection from violence—not because it is easy, but because their lives are at risk.
