Leigh Paris at The Belmont
Leigh Paris is an 18-year-old American rapper and songwriter hailing from Long Island, NY. Growing up in New York, Leigh was heavily influenced by the diverse culture around him. He particularly took an interest in all things art with fashion and music at the forefront. As he grew into his teen years, he began creating a signature style that developed as he matured. At 12 years old, Leigh wrote and recorded his first song which led to him jumping head first into music. After graduating high school, Leigh and his family relocated to Atlanta where he could focus on creating music full time. Heavily inspired by A$AP Rocky, Wiz Khalifa and Chris Brown, Leigh’s musical style is undeniably youthful, fun and unique with a sense of self-awareness. In 2019, Leigh premiered his debut project, 5500, which is a nod to his birthday (5/5/00). Leigh’s lead single, “Wood Grain”, sampled the legendary ‘Bad Boyz’ beat from Belizean rapper, Shyne. Leigh’s mother, who is also from Belize, encouraged her son to go back to his roots and shoot the video on the island with his family. The video, which premiered on Complex, features beautiful scenes from Carnival and truly captures how he fused his life.
