Marcos Cabral
Despite countless hours spent digging through his father’s record collection and an almost constant exposure to NYC radio throughout the late 80’s and early 90’s, little did Marcos Cabral know that his teenage passion for DJing would become a three decade long journey through New York’s dance music culture. What started as early cassette experimentation has now come full circle with a string of acclaimed records for labels such as L.I.E.S, The Trilogy Tapes and Creme Organization and bookings from Mexico to Moscow.
Marcos’ production work began back in the early 2000s with releases on Germany’s Trapez Records and his exploration of the club sound continued with Runaway, a production partnership Marcos formed Brooklyn-based producer Jacques Renault. Together they produced a handful of disco/house/techno influenced records for record labels such as DFA, Rekids, Chinatown, I’m A Cliche, Wurst Edits, Let’s Play House and their own label On The Prowl.
After years of working with partners in the studio, Marcos recently returned to solitude and is now aiming to convey a more personal message with the aforementioned techno labels.
