Proving that musical synergy is not restricted by geography, Swallow the Rat is a sonic force to be reckoned with. With members hailing from Austin, Texas and Auckland, New Zealand, and a musical pedigree that includes bands such as My Education, Lost Rockets, Body Corporate and Deathbeam, Swallow the Rat offers a unique mix of NZ Post-punk and Texan Psychedelia. Forming in late 2017, Swallow the Rat wasted no time, immediately recording a number of songs with acclaimed engineer Nick Abbott at Auckland's Northwestern Recorders, all of which charted on New Zealand's Alt Charts and Student Radio, along with receiving air play on KOOP (Austin, TX) and DKFM (CAN). In mid 2018, they embarked on their first New Zealand tour, and in late 2018 they will return to the studio with Abbott to complete a full album. In 2019 they will showcase at SXSW in Austin, TX and will follow this up with a U.S. tour, as well as continuing to play across New Zealand.
