For the last decade, DJ Spoon has been known for making people dance and sing by the spinning of his records! Anybody can “play” music, but a real DJ can take it, flip it, spin it, reverse it and make that hot new radio song sound even better! For Spoon, love for music had come at a very young age and is deeply rooted in his family. His well-rounded music library and diversity creates an experience like no other.
From his first gig at a house party at Texas Tech to battling DJ’s, releasing Sample Saturday videos, and headlining concerts, he’s clearly created a household name for himself. Aside from spinning records, he is also a Ph.D. student studying counseling at Texas Tech, as well as a College Prep Advisor.
Being a DJ is more than spinning records, more than juggling beats, more than playing the hottest song. Being a DJ is touching the crowd in way that nobody else can. It’s creating a freedom for people to enjoy themselves without the worries of the world. It’s loving what you do. It’s a lifestyle.
