Program Includes:
“Undiscovered” follows Sasquatch on his quest for a good photo of himself. His attempts to jump into a photo before scaring away the hikers who are taking them are thwarted by the usual suspects--food in his teeth, closed eyes, mussed-up hair, an out-of-focus shot--resulting in deleted photos every time. [Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.]
Series of interviews of young men and women who tell their stories relating to their experiences of racial bias, discrimination and behavior due to their ethnic background in America. [Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.]
Discouraged by a pandering shampoo bottle inscription, Abnie Oberfork, a precocious twelve-year-old girl, seeks validation from her parents. When neither her mother’s absurdity nor her father’s partial wikipedia quotes can assuage her, a mysterious pickle jar offers Abnie an escape from the malaise of childhood, to become pickled. Unfortunately, this only perpetuates Abnie’s despair. [Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.]
After a flood, some fish got stuck in old trees. In danger of drying-out they scream sharply. Woken up by the noise, the inhabitants of a nearby cave don't feel happy about the unintended gathering. [Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.]
As she is showering, dressing, putting on her make-up, a woman bares her soul. She speaks of her fears, her complexes, and the process of accepting – even loving – herself. Insecure, she loves neither her body nor her face. Then, one day, she starts posing as a photography model for a friend. With the passing of time, the photographs reveal to her the beauty of herself. Manivald, a fox, is turning 33. Overeducated, unemployed and generally uninspired, he lives with his overbearing, retired mother and spends his days learning piano while she makes his coffee and washes his socks. It is an easy life, but not a good one. Their unhealthy co-dependence is about to collapse when the washing machine breaks down and Toomas, a sexy and adventurous wolf repairman, arrives to fix it, and them. A surreal street race through hell and back! [Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.]
A Chinese manicurist in Miami attempts to describe feelings she doesn't have the words for. [Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.]
Solar Walk shows the journey of individuals and their creations. Any meaning of action is only existent from the perspective of the individual, but never mandatory when looking at it from the perspective of a solar system. It’s about the melancholy of accepting chaos as beautiful and cosmic. The only time someone truly can feel their actions matter, is by creation or by caring for someone else. Passion for creation is projected through the unique and playful texture of the animation craft itself. A father and a son both have the same big birthmark on their butt. Believing that the two birthmarks are connected, the son scrubs his father's birthmark to remove it – but he just can't get rid of it. [Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.]
The Shivering Truth is a miniature propulsive omnibus clusterbomb of painfully riotous daymares all dripping with the orange goo of dream logic. A series of loosely linked emotional parables about stories within tales that crawled out of the deepest caverns of your unconscious mind and became lovingly animated in breath-slapping stop motion - in other words, it is the truth.
