Hair Wolf
In a black hair salon in gentrifying Brooklyn, the staff are preparing to leave for the day when Cami, a regular, bursts in. She recounts a horrifying experience: while shopping at the nearby beauty supply store, an unknown white woman approached her and yanked out a tuft of her hair.
To Cami’s horror, this woman, Rebecca, enters the salon at that very moment, interrupting her story. Rebecca is intent on getting braids put in her hair, and against Cami’s protestations, the shop owner lets Rebecca in. One by one, the salon residents undergo a terrifying metamorphosis as Rebecca grows stronger, draining them of their conviction in black power and leaving Cami in a fight for black lives.
