The Future of A&R

Date TBA

Would Nirvana be signed to a major record company today? Would Christina Aguilera be allowed to drop a 22-track double album after a nearly four-year hiatus? Would The Beatles be surfaced by a modern A&R analytics platform as a “band to watch”?

The way people consume music has changed drastically in the past few years, and the pace of change is only quickening. Streaming services have upended the way artists approach their careers and how they interact with fans, while the new streaming economy has altered the way A&R executives look to scout, sign, and develop talent. In this panel we’ll explore what’s changed in the world of A&R – and what hasn’t - in the boundless and boundary-less era of streaming.
