#VRJourn

As the first wave of interest and experimentation in virtual reality has passed, this panel will explore what is working and what’s not in the world of nonfiction and journalistic VR. Francesca Panetta (Guardian VR), Arnaud Colinart (Notes on Blindness) and Jessica Lauretti (Ryot) will be moderated by Robert Hernandez (USC) as they discuss how journalism has expanded to include this new medium. From breaking news in 360, to long-form documentaries, how can non-fiction storytellers take learnings from the first years of VR into the future where more and more viewers have access. They will cover monetisation, which stories work in VR and which don’t, learnings from the past three years and the big question - is VR a fad in news or here to stay?
