Lawyers Gone Wild: Learning To Play by Ethical Rules
The music industry poses many potential conflict situations and ethical concerns for the entertainment lawyer. This panel of distinguished attorneys is out to prove that legal ethics is not an oxymoron. With a focus on applying the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct, the panel will discuss music-industry hypotheticals riddled with ethical issues. These discussions will cover additional topics including attorney subject-matter competence and expertise, as well as navigating the attorney-client privilege when dealing with artist clients’ team members. Panelists will examine where some of the ethical pitfalls lie and how to avoid them.
