Writers and producers often draw inspiration for their projects from real-life events and people. Some storytellers stop themselves from telling a story because they believe they need certain rights and believe those rights are not obtainable. The panelists will discuss how filmmakers should determine whether or not they need to secure permission to craft their stories and the advantages and disadvantages of making those decisions.
