Can Data End Veteran Homelessness? Ask Virginia
In 2015, Virginia became the first state to functionally end veteran homelessness. To reach this goal, dozens of government and non-government veteran-serving stakeholders came together, shared data, and used it strategically to target limited resources. The effort’s leaders will debunk the myth that using data requires a high-tech solution. They will also discuss the challenges they faced, including privacy concerns, data gaps, and not losing sight of the human experience behind the numbers.
