Matthew Leslie
Matt Leslie helps communities develop and enhance services for veterans and leads statewide coordination of homeless and housing services for the Virginia Department of Veterans Services and the Virginia Veteran and Family Support program. He has built partnerships between hundreds of community providers, six Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, and two federal and eight state agencies that touch veterans experiencing homelessness. Leslie co-chairs the Veterans Subcommittee of the Governor’s Coordinating Council on Homelessness and serves on the Behavioral Health and Justice Center Advisory Group. Previously, he worked at the Virginia Department of Housing and Development as both a program administrator and policy analyst. Leslie holds a bachelor’s degree in geography from James Madison University, and a master’s of social work with concentration in policy and planning from Virginia Commonwealth University.
