Saving Coral Reefs One Pixel at a Time

An estimated 90% of coral reefs in the Great Barrier Reef sustained damage in a bleaching event in 2016, primarily due to higher water temps caused by global warming. This panel will explore how novel technology is being used to study coral reefs and inform conservation of these threated ecosystems. From autonomous cameras, high-res photo mosaics, 3D mappings, autonomous sensors and underwater microscopes, learn what is helping researchers study and find solutions to protect these ecosystems.
