JoAnna Klein
JoAnna Klein is an independent science journalist based in Brooklyn, New York. She is a regular contributor at The New York Times Science desk where she was brought on to help develop and write for Trilobites, the permanent result of an experiment in visual, short-form storytelling.
JoAnna also writes and researches virtual reality stories for the New York Times Daily 360. In a previous life she published academic papers on learning and memory in rats in the world-renowned lab of Joseph LeDoux. She has a master’s in Journalism from the Science, Health and Environmental Reporting Program at NYU and another in Experimental Psychology from Appalachian State University. Her work has appeared in Newsweek, Nautilus, The Scientist, Motherboard and elsewhere.
