In 2017, HuffPost partnered with 23 local news outlets across the country as part of its 'Listen to America' bus tour. National news outlets often try and partner with local ones, and the results can vary. Indeed, many local outlets are wary of big media bigfooting them. This project endeavored to create deep partnerships around shared storytelling that would also spawn lasting relationships. In this panel, we share—with our local partners—the secrets to what worked, and what didn't.
